Sugar-Free Lent: Day Forty-Two!


With Easter being so close, we were actually talking about an Easter cake, something that was a bit of the light at the end of the tunnel when I started my sugar-free Lent. It was the reward after I crossed the desert, or it felt like that.


Remember me telling you about how I stood in front of the shop windows of bakers looking longingly into the display, my mouth watering? 


And at Easter I would be there! I did my deed, I would have been sugar-free for the whole 46 days of Lent, and a nice Easter cake would be permitted.


And do you know what I was saying to my daughter, when we talked about the Easter cake??? Instead of thinking about the most lush creations I could imagine, of cream, chocolate, jam, fruit or frosting I said to her: "I do not really want a cake". I said: "But I can look up a sugar free recipe on the Internet if you can't eat a whole cake on your own."
