Sugar-Free Lent: Day Twenty-Five!


It is quite interesting the kind of reactions I get when I mention that I'm sugar free for Lent. A lot of people are saying that they couldn't quit sugar, not even for Lent. Quite a lot of people are on excluding diets such as dairy or gluten free or don't eat any animal products for a variety of reasons, so they don't want to exclude anything else.


And yes, excluding diets are hard to follow, particularly when you haven't been brought up with it. And I was feeling pretty rough. Actually, I think that I'm starting to feel a bit better. Today was actually the first day that I didn't feel that I have to crash out for an afternoon nap. So I hope I will improve and get that bliss, at least.


There is no doubt: Sugar puts a bit of sweetness into our lives and yeah, it gives comfort when nothing else to do that is around.


But for me there will be peppers for sweetness and guess what? A bit of cheese.
