Sugar-free Lent: Day Ten

Sugar-Free Lent: Day Ten!

It is only a week since I started to stay clear of sugar and it feels like eternity. I still have this headache and it disturbs my vision and stops my brain functioning. So, bear with me and excuse me if what I'm saying doesn't make sense. I never thought that I was eating so much sugar that it would make a significant difference if I would stop.

But there is more than just the discomfort in the body. I can feel..., yes, almost grief. It is as if a good friend disappeared from my life. I'm really sad when I think about the fact that I have to eat my buckwheat without that lovely dash of maple syrup. And the thought that there wouldn't be a nice piece of yummy cake waiting for me when I get in from the garden is saddening.

At the moment I don't feel the benefits of not eating sugar. Maybe another week???

I found this little video on YouTube. Have a look. What do You think?

  1. What I have come to appreciate is how pervasive sugar is in our foods. It is included in many foods that you would consider as being sugar free and to cut sugar out entirely is all but impossible unless you manage to be extraordinarily strict and observant.
