It's getting serious again

We need to talk: It's getting serious again

I hope you all had a good laugh at Mr.Bean, I certainly did. And I promise, if you come and see me that you would not have to wait such a long time and that NOBODY would pinch your bottom.

But on a more serious note: We need to talk and we need to talk about food. Food is important. It is not only important because we all need to eat to survive, it is also important because we need to be careful what we put into our mouths.

The first thing I want to talk to you about is meat. We do not really need to eat meat. Eating meat is a way to survive when you are only one meal away from starvation. I'm not going to suggest that you stop eating meat because everybody is different and has different needs.

But think about what kind of meat you are eating. In commercial farming animals are often fed antibiotics to fatten them up and PREVENT diseases even if the animal is not ill. So by eating a steak you could gain antibiotic resistance against 3 different bacterial strains. How does that sound?

The other thing is how processed is your meat? Is it just a PIECE of meat or mince or something else?

Personally I buy organic meat whenever possible and just a piece. I'd rather have less and good quality than overly processed meat and non-organic.

What do YOU think?
